On this day, the Sun starts a new journey, moving into a special part of the sky. This means cold winter days are slowly ending, and we will soon have longer, brighter days!
🙏 To celebrate, many people wake up early and take a special bath in holy rivers, like Ganga. They offer water and prayers to the Sun, saying thank you for all the light and warmth. People also share yummy sweets made of sesame seeds and jaggery, called 'til-gud', which keep us warm. 😋
🪁 A super fun part of Makar Sankranti is flying colorful kites high in the sky! It’s also a day to be kind and share. Many families give food and help to people who need it.
